Students from Bristol based Martial Arts club Stoke Gifford TKD had a great day out at the Crown Plaza Heathrow on Saturday 18th January 2014.

Students along with their family travelled to London to participate in an all day training event headed up by Chair of the UK ITF Technical committee Mr Lee Hollingsworth.

Mr Hollingsworth set the tempo of the day with a vigorous 30 minute warm up, which was followed by strength & conditioning drills & pad work. After a much needed lunch break re-fuel Stoke Gifford Instructor Miss Burridge then took the session for around 45 minutes, to include patterns, leg strength & body mass exercises. It was then left to the UK ITF Executive Director Master Trevor Nicholls to finish the session in his usual motivating & energising manor, focusing on all elements needed to perfect the art of Taekwon-do.

The students were then lucky enough to have a few hours to relax in their own way, utilising the great hotel facilities, before glaming up for the banquet  & awards evening.

Once again the Stoke Gifford TKD family got together with their extended UK ITF family & enjoyed an evening of fine dining, whilst photos of the training day were shown on the big screen. The three course banquet was then followed by National & regional awards. Miss Burridge was presented with a beautiful champagne glass gift as an appreciation for all her work with the Coaching & Tournament Committees. Kieran McDermott was then presented with Overall Region 7 competitor for 2013 & Emily Oakes who has recently joined the club was presented with a recognition of dedication award.
