On Sunday 20th September Stoke Gifford TKD hosted at small junior competition at the Trust hall, Stoke Gifford. The club was joined by local UK ITF clubs Westbury-on-Trym & Fishponds TKD. Cardiff Martial Arts also travelled across the bridge to be part of the day. All of the clubs competing supported with Officials.
The aim of the competition was to encourage new students to get a taste of the competition world & also to raise funds for the club sponsorship account which will help to send future Stoke Gifford competitors to International tournaments.
As always the club was very well supported by parents & students that gave their time up to help in many ways to include providing refreshments, taking photo’s, umpiring & event staffing.
The day started promptly with the 4-6 year olds testing their skills in high kick, long kick & a set combo. It was really great to see the young talent shining through with some very confident performances.
Next up were the junior categories ranging from 7-13 year olds, 10th kup – 1st Degrees. Once again it was evident that there was some real emerging talent with many to look out for as future National & maybe International champions.
The day concluded with the awarding of medals & then the overall student of the day which was won by Miss Maddie Boyle from Stoke GiffordTKD.
